TrueRoute

Map Not Loading

If the TrueRoute map shows a blank area or missing tiles, the most likely cause is a missing or incomplete region download. Work through the steps below to resolve the issue.

Check 1: Was the region fully downloaded?

A download that was interrupted before reaching 100% may leave the map data incomplete.

  1. Open the Maps screen from the main menu.

  2. Find the region you expect to be available. Check its status.

  3. If the status shows a percentage less than 100% or does not show Downloaded, the download did not complete. Tap the region and tap Download to restart.

Check 2: Are you in the correct region?

TrueRoute requires a downloaded map for your current location. If you are driving in a different oblast than the one you downloaded, the map will not display.

  1. Check which oblast you are currently in.

  2. Open the Maps screen and confirm that oblast is listed as Downloaded.

  3. If not, download the correct region.

Common mistake: Kyiv Oblast and Kyiv City may be listed as separate regions. Ensure you have downloaded the correct one for your location.

Check 3: Re-download the region

If the region shows as downloaded but the map still does not display, the data may be corrupted from an interrupted download.

  1. Open the Maps screen.

  2. Tap the affected region.

  3. Tap Delete to remove the existing map data.

  4. Tap Download to download the region again.

  5. Wait for the download to complete fully (progress bar reaches 100%).

Check 4: Sufficient storage space

Each oblast map requires approximately 200 to 500 MB of storage. If your device storage is nearly full, the download may fail silently or produce corrupted data.

  1. Open your phone's SettingsStorage.

  2. Confirm you have at least 500 MB of free space.

  3. If storage is low, free up space by removing unused apps or files, then re-download the region.

Check 5: Clear cache and re-download

If none of the above resolved the issue, clear the app's map cache.

  1. Open your phone's SettingsAppsTrueRoute.

  2. Tap StorageClear Cache. This removes cached tiles without deleting your downloaded regions.

  3. Reopen TrueRoute. If the map still does not display, delete and re-download the affected region from the Maps screen.
