TrueRoute

How to Download Offline Maps

TrueRoute uses offline maps so you can navigate without an internet connection. Maps are based on OpenStreetMap data and rendered with MapLibre. Download the regions you need before your drive.

What you need

  • The TrueRoute app installed on your Android device.
  • An internet connection for the initial download.
  • Sufficient storage space on your device (approximately 200–500 MB per oblast, depending on region size).

Steps

  1. Open TrueRoute and navigate to the Maps screen from the main menu.

Storage and updates

Each oblast map ranges from approximately 200 to 500 MB depending on the area and road density. Storage requirements may vary as map data is updated over time.

To update a previously downloaded map, return to the Maps screen and tap Download again for that region. The new version replaces the old one.

What success looks like

Downloaded regions appear with a Downloaded badge in the region list. You can now navigate within those regions without an internet connection.

Something went wrong?

  • Download stalls or fails. Check your internet connection and try again. Ensure you have enough free storage on your device.
  • Map does not display after download. Close and reopen TrueRoute. If the issue persists, delete the region and re-download.
